EX Rated Shopping

You only really need 3 things when you are in the stage of EXile after a divorce or breakup. A pair of dark sunglasses, a huge box of tissues, and a tv remote. Oh yes, a phone to order everything and I mean everything to be delivered  right to your door. You are not going anywhere.  But like all the Stages of EX, there is a unique style to be embraced so get into it totally and with passion. The only way through EXile, it’s to embrace the feelings of despair, grab some pink lipstick and try to smile. You are free for goodness sake! Time will heal, but first go inside and stay there. It's ok.

Your Style Guide for EXile?

Color - In Exile, you want to be comfortable, cosy, you want your mother. No you actually want your husband, but that isn’t going to happen. So pink is the color for you. It is supposedly the color we “see” in the womb and the most nurturing tone for healing.  The number of women who revert to pink when in exile is overwhelming. Pink pajamas, pink home accessories, pink food. You name it, pink is the absolute default. And it DOES make you feel better, so if you can order online or get a friend to deliver your purchase, exile is the time for the following style guidelines.

Clothes – Comfy is THE sacred exile WORD while you are living through the stage of EXile. No one is going to see you if you have anything to say about it. You are a hermit and that’s ok. So, just indulge your broken heart with warm and cosy clothes from Soft Surroundings. I know its an odd name for a clothing site, but their their clothing is rated on a cloud scale of 1-3 and just about everything is just soft and nurturing.

Lingerie - As I have mentioned for EXile comfy is the word, so no lace thongs and pearl studded bras, just some nice crisp cotton white pajamas and underwear that FITS. You do not need any additional suffering about your appearance, you have already convinced yourself that you are the least attractive woman in the universe, so you need comfortable soft undies for snuggling and sniffling through those nostalgic photo albums. Or for wandering around the living room, find something that will make you smile. You do have to lighten up now and then.

Shoes - It’s slippers my friend. Pink, soft, snuggly and go for the full fluff.

Bags - Well as I mentioned EXile, means no movement. But if you are inclined to venture out, how about pink luggage. Your bags have to be practical enough to hold all the memories. That means everything you treasure. That means everything. Makeup – In EXile, just don’t bother with makeup - that is what I suggest. Who are you impressing right now anyway? Just be yourself. In fact I covered up my mirrors for several weeks because quite honestly I was scaring myself. Instead focus on your body with luxurious sumptuous crèmes and aromatherapy oils– touch your body with love, keep it soft and attractive. Just treasure yourself.
